Arts Online

Print this Lesson Discuss this Lesson Next Lesson

If you are looking for some aesthetic impressions, or just maybe you want a nice desktop wallpaper in your computer, then arts online is the subject for you. After all, can you imagine any better, or more suited, media that allows you to search, share or learn about art?

It is not important, if you are looking for a photography of “Mona Lisa del Gioconda” by Leonardo da Vinci, or you’ve just saw a poster with a nice drawing on it and you want to have it for yourself. All this, and much more can be found online. Art is a very wide category. Of course there is sculpture, drawing, and so on, but it seems that every classification of art requires creation of another classification. For example computer graphics (very common kind of art that can be found online) can be divided to 3d graphics and 2d graphics. 2d graphics is divided to vector and pixel graphics… and so on, and so on. Practically every aspect of art can be divided in this manner – and that makes it a lot easier to find it on the Internet.

If we want to analyze arts online, we should mention the variety of available topics. It’s obvious that you can find Picasso’s masterpieces somewhere in the web. You can learn about his life and his work. You can easily access opinions on his work or even share your own with others. But are you aware that you can learn how to paint like Picasso? Moreover, you can find tutorials describing almost every kind of creative activity. It should be mentioned here that most of this help regards computer graphics. After all, it’s arts online we are discussing here – a way of using computer to get in touch with art. It’s only natural that the Internet is full of computer art and information about how to make it yourself.

Unfortunately, some of those “tips & tricks” are available only to those who are willing to pay for it. Nevertheless it’s quite popular. Anyway, if you are ready to spend some time in front of your computer, you can be quite surprised, when you’ll find that you are actually a talented designer, or you’ll just find yourself a nice hobby. OK, let’s say that you have already created something and you want to share it with others. What to do? It's arts online portals that will help you. There are places on the Web where people from around the world are willing to comment your art or even give you some tips how to improve it. You can also make your suggestions about their work or just simply talk with them about art. But be aware – even ancient Romans knew that tastes are not subject to the discussion. Especially, when it comes to art online – where not hundreds, but thousands opinions clash.
